Moroccan international player Achraf Hakimi wins the Golden Lion award for 2025 ✍️👇👇👇


Moroccan international player, Achraf Hakimi, was crowned with the “Golden Lion” award for the year 2025, in a poll organized by the newspaper “Al-Mountakhab”, in which 57 media professionals, sports critics, representing various African media outlets, and international experts interested in football in the African continent participated.


This is the second consecutive time that the star of the Moroccan national team and the French club Paris Saint-Germain has won this honorary award, after he won it last year.


Achraf Hakimi finished ahead of Egyptian international and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, winner of the “Golden Lion” award in 2017, who came in second, and Guinean Serhou Guirassy, ​​Borussia Dortmund striker, who came in third.


Hakimi was crowned with this honorary award in recognition of the exceptional performance he delivered with Paris Saint-Germain, where he won the Champions League, the French League, the French Cup, and the European Super Cup, reached the Club World Cup final in the United States last summer, and played a prominent role in the Moroccan national team’s qualification for the 2026 World Cup finals with a perfect record.


During the last season, Hakimi scored 11 goals and provided 16 assists for his teammates, in 55 matches played in various competitions with the French capital team last season.


It is worth noting that the captain of the “Atlas Lions” is also competing for the African Player of the Year award in the “CAF Awards 2025”, in a strong race with Egyptian Mohamed Salah, and Nigerian Victor Osimhen, the striker of Galatasaray of Turkey.
